Sandy

I am married to my best friend Steve, and have 3 great children. They are each married and I have 7 perfectly wonderful grandchildren, Kayla (22), Kyle (19), Kevin (17), Peyton (16), Evan (10), Maggie (6), Easton (4). I have lots and lots of pictures to share in case you are interested.

I started scrapbooking in 1992. I was hooked after I had created my first page, which I hope you never see. My style has changed a lot in the years I have scrapbooked. I think I would describe my style as linear, and clean, unless I am papercrafting and making small albums, then anything goes. I love to use buttons, ribbon, and the latest papers on my pages.

I scrapbook mostly in the store or at the retreats. I hate to admit I have no scrapbook products at home. I don’t have a room large enough to hold everything, and you know I need it ALL.

I’m a bit of a perfectionist and therefore my scrapbooking is a slow process. My style is classic. I love to use ink on the edges of all my papers.

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Dan, for 26 years. He is very supportive of my scrapbooking addiction. He often gives his input on some of my projects. I have 2 children, Sarah, 16, and Nicholas, 12, and they both enjoy looking through their scrapbooks.

I began scrapbooking in 2001 in the hopes of having my children’s albums up to date by the time they graduate. I need to hurry; Sarah is a junoir.

I enjoy making mini albums and papercrafting items as gifts for family and friends.

When the housework is done, my family knows they can find me in my favorite spot, my scrapbook room.

Right now my favorite papers are My Mind’s Eye, Abbey Road.

12 years ago, my future daughter-in-law and I made wedding scrapbooks and we’ve been scrapping together ever since. I have made all my boys’ scrapbooks, and then told them that if they want to be in future books…stand next to the grandkids! I have an ongoing family book and albums for each of the grandkids, including the one who won’t be born till next year! I also do a lot of small books for important events. I love being able to start and finish a project…gives me a real feeling of accomplishment!

I have a spot in the family room where I work on my projects and can still “hang out” with the hubby. I have found I “scraplift” extremely well. Sometimes the smallest detail will jumpstart my brain.

Probably the most unusual place I scrapbook is in the car. We travel often, so my husband has fixed up a desk with a flat surface to work on and that holds all my necessities. It takes a bit of planning and I will be sunk if the airbag ever goes off, but we have quite a system worked out.

I could not scrapbook without my purple papercutter, crop-a-dile, paper-piercer, ink, and adhesive gun. I love to crop at the store where everything is so handy and expert opinions abound!

I am married and the mother of two amazing boys who give me many reasons to scrapbook.  I have been collecting and using scrapbooking supplies since 1997 when I first discovered this wonderful hobby.

I can’t live without my paper cutter and crop-a-dile.  I’m admittedly addicted to scrapbook paper…if it’s new, I gotta have it!   My favorite embellishments are ribbons and buttons.  I would describe my scrapbook style as modern and whimsical.

I’m thankful for all the amazing friends I’ve made through scrapbooking.
